Remember when I ducked out of the 5 frugal things linky nearly a year ago now… wow time really passes quick doesn’t it! I was really pleased with the consistency it gave me as far as creating content for my blog was concerned but it ended up mentally doing more harm than good so I decided to stop sharing weekly what I came across on my travels. You can read more about why I quit here.
Best frugal living tips
But from today I’ve decided to start sharing with you some of my best frugal living tips. I’m not saying I’m going to be posting these every week, because I think that was part the problem with the 5 frugal things; or whether it’s going to consist of 1, 3, 5 or even 10 tips per post… although I loved the consistency of the previous frugal series it made me feel like I NEEDED to create content and if I didn’t have the content I NEEDED to go out to get it.
The first addition to my best frugal living tips series has to be the fact that this week we spent the least amount of money we have probably ever spent during the kids’ school holidays…
The fact that we don’t have it helps massively mind(!) but that’s never stopped us before. Our problem in the past has been just sticking it on the credit card and saying ‘oh we’ll have the money next month’.
It DOES get paid (most of the time!), sometimes a little bit late but that’s it… no more… we barely use the credit card now and it’s all about the cash!
Here’s a few things we got up to this February half term:
- Humber Bridge foreshore
- York City Cente & city walls etc
- National Railway Museum
- Museum Quarter in Hull inc Maritime Museum and Hull Minster too
The kids have had a fab week! It’s helped that the weather has been amazing for February too but apart from spending £4 on sandwiches for lunch in town, £10 parking in York, £2 parking in Hull… we’ve done really REALLY well this week!
Check out my weekly vlog below….
What did you get up to during half term? Did you overspend or like me did well in spending very little?
If you got value from this post let me know & feel free to share with your friends!
