[AD] May saw my first ever experience of Blog On… a blogging conference with some fabulous speakers, numerous brands and an all round fabulously day full of super creative people!

Conversations were had and emails exchanged with so many businesses that I felt both my family & you, my audience would love and just a few days after the event an email arrived in my inbox from the ladies at Hotter Shoes! I had been chosen to participate in their new Fit Fortnight campaign!

Hotter Shoes Fit Fortnight was a 2 week event aimed to help customers find perfectly fitting shoes by measuring their feet and providing expert advice. This is a service that they offer all the time though not just for this specific campaign and something you too can experience in any Hotter store yourself.

Where is my nearest Hotter Shoe Store?

Beverley in East Yorkshire is my nearest Hotter shoe shop. It was there that I had my very own cinderella experience!

There are tons of other stories around the country with other ones nearby to me in Doncaster, Castleford, York & Harrogate.

Until this day I had never stepped foot in a Hotter shoe shop before. I’m not going to lie I thought their target audience and the only people that actually went in were Grandmas! (sorry!)

However, I was very wrong!

It’s a lot more ‘trendier’ than I thought it was going to be… it’s clear that once inside it appeals to both males and females of all ages.

It was time for me to get my feet measured.

I haven’t had my feet measured for YEARS! I was probably a child when I last had them done and had a good idea that I was a size 6. This was solely based on the trying on of ‘cheap’ shoes from the likes of Primark or Asda.

I’ve never EVER invested in my feet. I tell a lie… I wore Pods (the cheaper alternative to Kickers!) and Doc Martins when I was in secondary school but that’s about it!

Hey guess what? I wasn’t a size 6 at all!

I was less than a size 5 on one foot and size 5 on the other! What the actual heck!?

All these years I thought I was a 6.. I’ve bought umpteen size 6 shoes that actually don’t fit me as they should! Maybe it’s another bloody body change that occurs after your’ve had children!

The lady who measured explained that it’s just as bad to wear shoes that are too big than it is to wear shoes too small. Although I’ve never suffered with my feet to be fair I was actually in shock!

My feet are also standard width too.. there’s me thinking I too always had quite wide feet!

Although not available in every style, Hotter offer both half sizes AND various width fittings too.

There were a tons of beautiful shoes to choose from. I was gifted a brand new pair from their new season line and tried on three pairs because I didn’t know which one to chose! Two were flat sandals and one had a wedge.

I ended up going for the one with a heel though. Only a slight one but my issue with shoes tend to be that I always end up going for flats because although I love to walk in heels, the pressure on the balls of my feet result in me not being able to wear them for very long!

I thought given Hotter pride themselves on crafting shoes that are the epitome of comfort and style I had a very good feeling these were not going to be a pair of shoes that were going to give me jip after wearing them for just 10 minutes!

You may not know but I sometimes feel a little anxious sharing things on here that might seem unaffordable to the majority of those reading. I always feel like I have to justify to strangers my choice of any purchases that may seem a little lavish to others but I always say it’s because I watch my pennies in one element of my day to day life that allows me to spend it where I want. Although these shoes were gifted on this occasion I genuinely cannot wait to be able to invest in some more because that’s what I see these shoes as… a lasting investment.

I haven’t yet had any blisters or rubbing or any uncomfortable and I’ve worn them A LOT! They really are the comfiest sandals I’ve ever worn!
