A hotel located just steps away from Lime Street train station and surrounded by nothing but tall buildings was our bed for the night during a recent family night away in Liverpool.
We spent a night this summer at the Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre whilst visiting Liverpool and drove the 2 mile/20 minute journey from Anfield Stadium Tour to this super tiny but perfect family hotel for a weekend in Liverpool. It’s really easy to miss though so keep your eyes peeled!
Family Hotel In Liverpool
I was expecting a high rise building but it is such a small hotel tucked away but located just steps away from the centre of Liverpool with Albert Dock being the furthest attraction away just
Although the hotel is only on 2 floors, it’s actually one of the best Premier Inn’s we have stayed in (and we’ve stayed in a few!).
It’s rare you get air conditioning I’ve found in a Premier Inn for a start (well the Premier Inn’s we’ve stayed in anyway!) so this already felt like it was way more than a budget hotel because we actually had air con!
Family Rooms In Liverpool
You also usually have to spend a little more to stay in a hotel that can house two children in two separate beds or rather but the Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre did just that and it was perfect!
The sofa bed turned into a single bed and the one that would usually just be pushed along side was actually separate. It may well have been due to the size of the room (it wasn’t be largest Premier Inn room we’ve ever stayed in) but I would take that layout over the size of the room any day!
I may ask the next time we stay in a Premier Inn if the beds can be separate rather than together. They are usually just pushed alongside each other like a double bed when we stay in a family room.
Kids eat free!
We of course had breakfast at the hotel which was a bargain as the kids eat free. If you didn’t know two under-16s eat breakfast free when one adult orders a full Premier Inn Breakfast or Meal Deal so it’s certainly something to look at when you book your next stay!
We stocked up on the all you can eat continental and full english breakfast which was as good as all the other Premier Inn breakfast we have had. The kids love being able to choose what they have for breakfast (Nutella!) and we love that they can just go up and get what they want when they want too.
Parking for the Premier Inn Lime Street
The only downside to the hotel is the parking. Although it was only a 5-10 minute walk away, the fact we had to trek across town and cross busy roads with both cases and children in tow isn’t ideal but it’s not the end of the world. Parking cost us £8 overnight – a discounted rate that we had to get validated at reception before we left.
Although it was the most central Liverpool hotel we’ve stayed in with kids either and it’s really difficult to compare it to the Doubletree we stayed in this time last year using our Hilton HHonors points, because they are two completely separate standards of hotel (and price!) but it was such a nice hotel we will most certainly be back and the perfect hotel for a weekend in Liverpool!
