Can you tell that potatoes are at the top of my list for the most food we waste! Although they aren’t the most expensive thing to buy there are so many things that we can make with them that I’ve made it my aim to ensure we use up every single bag we buy. This week I’m again not heading to the freezer aisle for some Aldi hash browns nor will I most certainly not be nipping to Mcdonalds for their version either! Instead, I’m going to make delicious crispy Slimming World ones at home & here’s how you too can use up those leftover potatoes and make yourself some syn free fresh hash browns!
Slimming World Hash Browns
Ingredients You’ll Need
2 Potatoes
1 egg
Half an onion diced
1 tsp Garlic powder
Frylight
Salt
Pepper
How To Make Hash Browns LIke mc Donalds (but better!)
Time needed: 15 minutes.
Step by step guide:
- Grate the potatoes into a bowl of cold water
then drain and pat dry
- Add the onions, garlic powder, whisked egg + salt and pepper and mix everything together
- Spray a frying pan with frylight and heat up
- Add a spoonful of the mix to the pan and cook for approx 3 minutes each side until golden brown
Alternatively, if you don’t want to fry or if you’d rather leave them to cook in the oven you can do so using a cupcake/muffin tin. Just spray with Frylight and leave them to cook in an oven at 200 degrees for 20/25 minutes. Keep an eye on them though as it will depend on the size of your muffin tin as to how deep the hash browns end
