Afternoon tea is BIG around Hull at the minute and it really does make such a nice afternoon treat especially if you’re celebrating something.

Best Afternoon Tea In Hull?

Whether you’re looking for ideas on holding a Baby Shower, a birthday celebration or you just fancy sandwiches, sweet treats and a nice cuppa (or two!) with a loved one… here’s a list of places that we’ve experienced and that are currently serving afternoon tea in Hull and East Yorkshire:

Afternoon tea in East Hull

Deli 1936

This was our first ever experience of afternoon tea at a little cafe on James Reckitt Avenue in East Hull but it was no ordinary afternoon tea!

This was specifically a kids afternoon tea of which I took my little girl to. Children’s afternoon tea is just £5 per child & booking is essential.

They also offer Children’s takeout Afternoon Tea/Picnic boxes which comes with cupcake & drink too!

Located to the rear and virtually opposite the rear entrance of East Park it’s in an ideal location if you are looking for a treat during the school holidays!

Afternoon tea in Beverley

Tickton Grange

Located on the outskirts of Beverley, this afternoon tea was last year’s birthday gift to my own Mum.

Gluten free afternoon tea near Hull

Being intolerant to gluten my mum never thought she could enjoy afternoon tea like so many do but this gluten free afternoon tea in Beverley hit the spot nicely last summer

This was my Mums own GF platter that she had all to herself!

Although not the cheapest afternoon tea listed here, the setting is just beautiful.

This was the traditional afternoon tea at £18.50 per person but they do have alternatives if you are celebrating something special perhaps.

  • Champagne afternoon tea is £27.00 per person.
  • Fancy a glass of ‘G&Tea’ or Prosecco with your sweet treats? You can do just that for £23.50

We were seated outside but there were tables available in the bar area should you prefer to be inside.

Afternoon Tea in Hessle

Country park

Hessle is my local area. I love supporting the local businesses in and around where I live so I was very excited to be able to experience my first local afternoon tea at the Country Park Inn for my sister-in-laws last pre-wedding get together!

The party chose to upgrade to a sparkling afternoon tea which included a glass of Prosecco. This was £5 more per person than the regular £13pp.

My Mum again got the gluten free option which was more than adequate size wise and we also had someone with a nut allergy so both were catered for and got their own tier full of similar foods to the rest of us.

I felt for the location and the quality of food this was a really good price for afternoon tea. We all thoroughly enjoyed it but I couldn’t help but fancy some savouries which I was very surprised that there wasn’t!

There was plenty of sweet desserts and ample sandwiches but nothing in-between which was a little bit disappointing but overall it was a really great afternoon tea in a brilliant location.

We will be adding to this as and when we experience an afternoon tea so if you can recommend anywhere drop me a comment down below or if you would like to feature your afternoon tea then feel free to drop me an email.

About

I’m Kirsty.  A mother of two (three if you include the hubby!) and I created this blog back in 2016 as a way to make myself accountable for the savings I had to make myself to my day to life after reducing my hours at work.

Childcare costs would’ve meant I was pretty much working for nothing and we refused to pay it!

It is now my mission to help other Mum’s find ways of doing the same & show that you can live within your means without feeling deprived.  The blog will provide you with ways you can make some extra money online, share frugal living tips you can take away and use yourself and encourage you to manage your money correctly!

Luxury doesn’t have to mean buying a Chanel bag or having a Ferrari on your drive but if you budget well, watch your spends, make the right decisions then you just never know… by cutting down or saving on just one element from your life may open other doors to things that you’ve only ever dreamt about!
