I used to LOVE sewing in school. It was for sure one of my
Sewing Projects TO Sell AT CRAFT FAIRS
Quilts & Blankets
Making a blanket is probably the easiest sewing project you could sell and an that you can make for almost anyone. You can make it even more special by using special materials that the customer provides for you. For example, they can use some of their child’s old clothing as the fabric which is something I want to do with the umpteen vac-bags of baby clothes we still have (my eldest is 8 by the way!). Alternatively, you can have fabric made with pictures that people have taken. This will create a very special blanket for someone from one of your customers.
Phone / Kindle / Tablet Case
This is a fun sewing idea to make that doesn’t require tons of skill. If you can do a basic stitch, you can 100% make a case for your mobile device. Be sure to find out what type of device the person you are making it for has so you can get the size right too. To make your sewing pattern, you can use the device to get the right size. Don’t forget to add pockets
Zipper or Draw String Pouches
Everyone loves little pouches to help organize their stuff like makeup, pens, colouring supplies and so forth. Making a zipped pouch for people to keep in their purse, bag or pocket is a great sewing product idea because they are fast to make, and you can fill them with multiple items.
Fabric Bins
You can make beautiful fabric bins to help organize any room in any house. Offering them as products is a great way for your customers to help their family and friends get more organized around the house. Tell them to look at their family and friends decor when they are next visiting and choose a colour from it so that they will want to put them out around their home!
Pillows
Making pillows is also a great sewing idea to sell and is
Aprons
Everyone loves a well-designed and cute apron (especially grandparents!). In addition, they are easy to sew and even easier to sell especially if it’s personalised. You really don’t even need a pattern. Just cut out the shape you want it to be, hem it, add a pocket on the front, sew on a tie or side fasteners and you’re all done.
Making meaningful products means that your customers can choose something they know the recipient will love. Like choosing
