Shadowbox Craft Displays And Why They Make Amazing Products To Sell

Another fun and meaningful crafty thing you can make are shadowbox displays. They make fun gifts and it’s something that any customer can showcase in their house forever.  A shadowbox craft can comprise of something they want to remember such as the birth of a baby, graduation, or some other celebration.

So what exactly is a shadowbox? A shadowbox is generally just a very deep picture frame that allows you to display three-dimensional memories. They can be actual items such as baby shoes, ballet shoes or badges, medals or other memories of service or fun activities. We’ve made ones filled with smarties before now for the children’s teachers and have all intention of doing the same for this year as an end of term teacher gift. All you need is a deep frame, pins, glue, double-stick tape, and other supplies to create it.

Babies First Shoes

You don’t have to, a photograph will be fine, but you may want to actually include the shoes within the frame if you can. Although not many people would like to destroy their child’s first shoes, covering them in gold, silver, or even copper could make them stand out more in the frame. Put the shoes in the shadow box along with a few other memories like a rattle, bracelet, or necklace to make the shoes stand out. You can use a label maker or cut out some vinyl to add the child’s name and birthdate in the frame.

Sports Memories

If a child has recently received a sports award, you could add it to a frame using the sports team colours as a background. You could even ask the parents for any saved tickets from the events and if it’s a game that uses a small game ball, or other memories along with the award why not add that in too.

Wedding Shadowbox

A wedding is also a great reason to make a shadowbox. Why not use the bride’s flowers, the invitation, the wedding program, and anything else your customer wants the bride to remember. Then the customer can give this to the bride before she leaves for her honeymoon as a wonderful memorybox.

Fun Scenes

Another use for a shadowbox is for general décor. You can create fun scenes inside a shadowbox or just grab some wallpaper print to stick to the background and create a picture. If your customers have a beachy themed hallway why not create a fun shadowbox scene with sand, shells, ribbon, and pictures is a great way to capture the beach feel.

Family Shield Shadowbox

For people who know their family’s coat of arms or have a family history tree, a shadowbox is the perfect way to display the story of their family. What makes these shadowboxes meaningful is that they’re going to be one-of-a-kind creations based on any memory that they want to keep. They make excellent gifts for your customer to give.

In case of an emergency!

This was something I used to make for people all the time.. and I still love doing them!

Just take the back off, add the sweets and add some vinyl onto the front… this was what I made for my eldest’s teacher this year and it went down a storm!

I love shadowbox craft displays we even have one where we save our money for Disney! It’s such a simple and affordable option and an easy craft to make and sell for a profit.

About

I’m Kirsty.  A mother of two (three if you include the hubby!) and I created this blog back in 2016 as a way to make myself accountable for the savings I had to make myself to my day to life after reducing my hours at work.

Childcare costs would’ve meant I was pretty much working for nothing and we refused to pay it!

It is now my mission to help other Mum’s find ways of doing the same & show that you can live within your means without feeling deprived.  The blog will provide you with ways you can make some extra money online, share frugal living tips you can take away and use yourself and encourage you to manage your money correctly!

Luxury doesn’t have to mean buying a Chanel bag or having a Ferrari on your drive but if you budget well, watch your spends, make the right decisions then you just never know… by cutting down or saving on just one element from your life may open other doors to things that you’ve only ever dreamt about!
