Buying gifts can be overwhelming. Trying to find uncommon gift ideas is hard! Next time, why not think about making the presents? A lot of people out there will also pay a skilled person perhaps like you to take care of it for them too. If you have a crafty thumb or two; here are one or two craft ideas to sell that you can make using cross stitch (or keep to gift yourself!)… lets turn your cross stitch into cash!

Easy Crafts To Make And Sell For Profit

Baby Wall Decorations

Creating a wall hanging to help welcome a new baby into the world is fun. It might seem a little dated to some as it’s something that was very popular in the 80’s and 90’s. When you do this why not have your customer ask the parents for a copy of the baby’s footprints and or handprints. Tell them to also get the date of birth, the day, the name, and the baby’s weight and length to put on the hanging too. Plus you’ll want to make sure you match the nursery colours so if they want to hang it in babys bedroom they can.

Christmas Stockings

Everyone loves hanging Christmas Stockings on Christmas Eve. It’s a great product to offer because it works for almost anyone. They can give them at Christmas, but you can also promote and sell cross stitch products throughout the year too. How about a firstChristmass as a Mr & Mrs or similar or baby’s first christmas stocking.. you get the jist! Anytime is really the right time for some amazing handmade cross-stitched stockings.

Greeting Cards

People still love getting mail from the postal service (especially older generations!). Don’t discount how thrilled your recipients will feel getting cross-stitched hand made cards from their family members. Again, you can make them for any occasion since the design is totally up to you and then add them to Etsy, eBay or your e-commerce store.  People can pick the one that they want and you can either send them to the customers or the person receiving the card.

Kitchen / Bathroom Decorative Towels

Making some beautiful towels for people to give to their friends and family to use every day is another great cross-stitch product idea.

Quilts

Cross-stitching a quilt is a wonderful product idea too. People love cuddly blankets for their bed and their chairs and sofa. My Grandma still has a beautiful (albeit old!) stitched quilt on her top sheet. Having cross-stitched designs makes the blanket even more special because your customer can add their special touch with them that their loved one is passionate about, a quote or even an image.

Bookmarks

This is an inexpensive and fun idea to offer for people to give to anyone who loves to read. You can cross-stitch a favorite quote on the bookmarks, and since they’re small, you can easily produce a lot of them for a variety of options for your customers.

Making cross-stitch products don’t necessarily require expert level skill if you choose the right design with just one or two stitches to learn. Set up an assembly line and before you know it, you’ll have ton’s of craft ideas to sell!

About

I’m Kirsty.  A mother of two (three if you include the hubby!) and I created this blog back in 2016 as a way to make myself accountable for the savings I had to make myself to my day to life after reducing my hours at work.

Childcare costs would’ve meant I was pretty much working for nothing and we refused to pay it!

It is now my mission to help other Mum’s find ways of doing the same & show that you can live within your means without feeling deprived.  The blog will provide you with ways you can make some extra money online, share frugal living tips you can take away and use yourself and encourage you to manage your money correctly!

Luxury doesn’t have to mean buying a Chanel bag or having a Ferrari on your drive but if you budget well, watch your spends, make the right decisions then you just never know… by cutting down or saving on just one element from your life may open other doors to things that you’ve only ever dreamt about!
